Affordable Housing Is Not Someone Else’s Problem

Did you know, according to Habitat for Humanity International, there are more than 1.6 billion people worldwide who lack adequate shelter? And what's even scarier than that, is the number is constantly increasing.


For many of us, the thought of not having adequate housing is hard to believe. And because many people haven't experienced the struggles many go through each day to survive, the idea of affordable housing seems like a problem for the government or for someone else to solve.


But in reality, affordable housing affects all of us and it's impact is felt on all of us as well, whether you realize it or not. Jonathan T.M. Reckford is the CEO for Habitat for Humanity International and has written a blog post about why the affordable housing problem is everyone's problem.
